Installation

Step ONe

Prepare The Roof Deck

If replacing an old vent, remove it first. If not, cut a 3–inch hole in the roof where the ductwork will go.

Step Two

Install The Base Flange

Center the Base Flange on the edge of the hole.

Secure the Base Flange to the roof using roofing nails. Nail it down securely.

Step Three:

Shingle around the Base Flange.

Lay shingles over the top and sides of the flange so water can drain properly.

Do not cut shingles on top of the flange exposed; always cut back to the rigid base flange edge.

Pro Tip: Use snips instead of a hook blade to avoid cutting the flange improperly.

Step Four:

Connect The Ductwork

For Flex Tubes:
– Slide clamp around the flex tube.
– Push the flex tube connector into the Base Flange.
– Securely advance the connector into the Base Flange for a secure fit.
– Position and tighten the clamp.

For Rigid Tubes:
– Push in the duct connector through the Base Flange into the rigid tube.
– Push tightly for a snug fit (no clamp needed).

Step 5:

Attach The Vent Cap

Line up the four tabs on the Vent Cap with the slots on the Base Flange.

Press down until tabs lock in place to keep the cap secure.

Check that all 4 tabs are locked in place to keep the cap secure.

Warning

Do not install roof caps on roofs below a 3/12 pitch.
Not designed as a dryer vent.
